Learn & Train with us

Beaumont Hospital (incorporating St. Joseph's Hospital and affiliated sites) is the principal teaching hospital for the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Beaumont Hospital is the lead Level 4 academic Hospital within the RCSI Hospital Group which includes Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, the Rotunda Hospital, Cavan/Monaghan Hospitals, Louth County Hospital and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.  Following the establishment of 6 new Health Regions nationally, Beaumont Hospital is designated within HSE Health Region Dublin and North East. By the end of 2024, existing Hospital Group and Community Health Organisation (CHO) structures will be stood down as the new Health Region arrangements are established.

In addition, we are a Designated Cancer Centre and the Regional Treatment Centre for Ear, Nose and Throat, and Gastroenterology. We are also the National Referral Centre for Neurosurgery and Neurology, Renal Transplantation, and Cochlear Implantation. Beaumont Hospital also enjoys close links with Dublin City University, especially in the area of nurse training, and with other academic institutions in respect of training and research. We are always interested to hear from high calibre, positive and motivated professionals for the organisation, who will support the continued delivery and improvement of patient care within the hospital.

As a leading-edge teaching hospital, Beaumont is committed to creating an environment that supports learning and development for all staff.

The Learning & Development (L&D) function in conjunction with the Executive Management Team and Line Managers support the promotion of life-long learning where all staff are provided with the opportunity for education, training & development activities to enable them in their roles and to provide the highest standards of excellence in the provision of patient care while supporting cultural change and continuous improvement that meets the needs of both staff and the hospital now and into the future.


National Centre of Excellence

  • Beaumont Hospital is the National Centre for Neurosurgery, Renal and Pancreatic Transplantation and Cochlear Implantation. 
  • The Hospital provides a 24-hour emergency service for its own catchment area of approximately 250,000. 
  • An average of 60 patients per day are admitted for trauma or elective treatment, making it one of the busiest general Hospitals in the country.   
  • In 2017, Beaumont was designated as a Centre of Excellence for Cancer Services.
